Presentations

PowerPoint® presentations are important vehicles as to how Ultra is perceived. Every day, we create pitches that represent Ultra, and it is important that we create presentations that look and feel like they come from the same group of businesses. To achieve this, a standard format has been created for all presentations, see examples on this page. As well as creating a clear, distinctive style to represent Ultra, having just one approach helps with the practical issues of updating or amending presentations where these come together from more than one source within our Group.

For the purpose of illustration it has been assumed that presentations will be generated in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Tips

Use Trebuchet MS, for text within tables, charts and diagrams Arial can also be used;

Format all imported graphs, update the font to Trebuchet MS/Arial as necessary and the colours to those in the palette;

Use photographs, graphics and illustrations to enhance your slides – avoid using clip art;

Avoid inserting really large image files into your presentation. Most presentations only need images that are 72 dpi. If you have a larger sized file, you should downsize that image in a photo editing programme before you insert the file into your presentation to avoid creating a really large PowerPoint file.

Don’t overwhelm your audience with information – use the notes page with PowerPoint for this added information;

Don’t over-design, keep your slides simple and use your spoken words to communicate the details to your audience;

Do not use slide transition animations, as slides are often copied over into different presentations and may interrupt the flow of the speaker.
