Q.
Is there a serif font that can be used? We would like to use a mix of serif and sans serif, particularly for long, printed documents. Is that allowed?
A.
The use of a serif font is not allowed. A decision at Group level was made – sometime ago – to not use a serif font.
The one exception is for documents with particularly large amounts of text such as Proposals, Agreements, etc., where the use a serif font for body copy will improve the readability.
The readily available serif font Times Roman is allowed for this use only.
A serif font should never be used in marketing brochures or data sheets.
Q.
Are the rules about JPGs, PNGs and so forth suggestions, or must we comply with
the specific format for the specific deliverable (for example, EPS for print, JPEG or
GIF for on-screen)?
A.
There are no specific rules, as this requirement is usually determined by the end application or your print/media supplier.
